What Makes Us Different?

  • Treatment is not the same every visit; it is specific for the condition each time. As patients recover their symptoms will change, so treatment changes accordingly to be as specific as possible and get the quickest results.
  • Patients are thoroughly educated about their condition and taught self care strategies to decrease their need for future care.
  • Patients are given specific stretches and exercises to emphasize strengths and minimize weaknesses in mechanics and functionality to reduce recurrence of symptoms.
  • Joint manipulation is not based on alignment and is not necessary for every patient. When deemed necessary, joint manipulation is utilized to restore functionality, range of motion and decrease pain.
  • We enjoy updating and working closely with our patients’ family physician and other health care providers to provide complete comprehensive care.
  • These reasons, along with our progressive therapy strategies, allow our office to have some of the shortest treatment plans seen in the profession.

About Active Spine and Sport Therapy

We treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, with the latest therapies to resolve your complaints quickly.

Dr. Brian Mulhall

Dr. Brian Mulhall

Dr. Brian Mulhall had a goal of providing a remarkably unique service: A clinic where patients could go for sports injuries and musculoskeletal aches and pains to obtain rapid resolution of their condition (usually 4-6 visits) and most importantly learn how to treat themselves if it ever returns, to reduce their need for future care.

A native Chicagoan, Dr. Mulhall moved to Fort Worth with his wife in 2005 to open Active Spine & Sport Therapy. Just 2 years later, the readers of Competitor Texas magazine voted Active Spine & Sport Therapy as the “Best Place to go for a Sports Injury in Texas for 2007 and again in 2008”.

Dr. Mulhall is certified as an Elite Provider in Active Release Techniques (ART) – an honor shared by under 200 practitioners in the entire country. This is the highest level an ART provider can obtain through study, certification and testing with Dr. Michael Leahy, founder and developer of the technique.

Dr. Mulhall is currently the only practitioner in the U.S. holding certifications in McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy and as an Elite Provider for Active Release Techniques (ART).

Dr. Mulhall received his first Bachelors of Science degree from Eastern Illinois University in Pre-Medical Studies in 1997. He received his second Bachelors of Science degree in Human Biology in 1999 and his Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2001 from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois.

After graduation Dr. Mulhall continued his education by obtaining recognition as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Full Body Certified and Elite Provider in Active Release Techniques (ART), Certified in McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (Cert. MDT), Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP) and Certification in Custom Orthotics Casting and Design.

Dr. Mulhall enjoys spending time distance running and at home with his wife Laurie and young son.
