When he first opened Active Spine & Sport Therapy, Dr. Brian Mulhall had a goal of providing a remarkably unique service: A clinic centered on rapid treatment for sports injuries and musculoskeletal aches/pains (usually 3-6 visits) and most importantly truly teaching patients about their condition and how to treat themselves to reduce their need for future care. Through diagnostic problem solving strategies and specific therapeutic protocols that Dr. Mulhall developed, all of the Active Spine & Sport Therapy doctors rapidly resolve conditions with movement and results based, elite-level, individualized musculoskeletal care. 

“We think of it like golf, the fewer visits it takes for us to resolve a patient’s condition – the better our score.”  He adds, “Too frequently care providers primarily recommend rest and avoidance of aggravating activities, rather than taking the time to think through the condition and provide proper treatment to allow patients to keep doing what they love while maintaining their active lifestyle and exercise habits.”

A native Chicagoan, Dr. Mulhall moved to Fort Worth with his wife in 2005 to open Active Spine & Sport Therapy and just two years later, the readers of Competitor Magazine voted Active Spine & Sport Therapy, "Best Sports Injury/Rehab Clinic in Texas" - an award they have continued to win an additional three times.  Dr. Mulhall is certified as an Elite Provider in Active Release Techniques (ART) – an honor shared by under 200 practitioners in the entire country. This is the highest level an ART provider can obtain through study, certification and testing with Dr. Michael Leahy, founder and developer of the technique. Dr. Mulhall is also the only practitioner in the U.S. holding certifications in McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) and as an Elite Provider for Active Release Techniques.

Dr. Mulhall received his first Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Illinois University in Pre-Medical Studies in 1997. He received his second Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology in 1999 and his Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2001 from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois.

After graduation Dr. Mulhall has constantly continued his education by obtaining an ever growing list of additional certifications, diagnostic tools and therapy techniques.  Dr. Mulhall has also designed and presented numerous continuing education seminars/lectures for Personal Trainers, Athletic Trainers and Massage Therapists and continues to present Injury Prevention and Biomechanical Seminars from month to month for local athletic clubs, businesses and all the triathlon and half-marathon/marathon training groups. Dr. Mulhall enjoys spending time distance running, studying new therapies and research and staying home with his wife and their two young boys.
