Dr. Bryan Hapka

Dr. Bryan Hapka grew up in Wisconsin competing in many sports but primarily Ice Hockey and Golf. After initially receiving a scholarship to play hockey at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Dr. Hapka transferred and finished his hockey and golf career at St. Olaf College in Minnesota where he also received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Exercise Science. While at St. Olaf, Dr. Hapka became interested in a career in sports medicine while working as a Student Athletic Trainer and also as a result of the numerous injuries he endured while playing.

In 2005 Dr. Hapka moved to Dallas, TX to study Chiropractic at Parker College of Chiropractic and received his Doctorate in 2008. His goals from the beginning were to work with athletes of all levels to help them overcome their injuries in the fastest way possible so they can return to doing what they love. “For someone who has had plenty of surgeries from sports injuries, knowing what I know now, a lot can be done to prevent these things,” he says. “Many injuries can be successfully treated without invasive procedures or prolonged treatment.” This concept is what also brought Dr. Hapka to Fort Worth and Active Spine and Sport Therapy.

Throughout the past 10 years, Dr. Hapka has become fascinated with movement and with human movement and assessing movement dysfunctions.  “Being able to watch someone move, see their dysfunctional patterns, treat them and then watch as they return to normal movement again is pretty cool!”  This has led Dr. Hapka to programs such as the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and a certification in NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT).  “Now, rather than just treating the pain, I am able to see what is causing the pain and treat that issue as well so that you can move and feel better faster!”

Dr. Hapka is certified through The Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) as a level 2 Medical Professional, Certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment and Functional Movement Screen (SFMA and FMS), Certified Level 1 in Kinetacore Functional Dry Needling, Certified in FAKTR (Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab), Certified in NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT), RockTape Functional Movement Techniques (FMT 1 & 2) Certified and was Full Body Certified in Active Release Techniques (ART) for several years. He has also taken several courses through the McKenzie Institute USA in the evaluation and treatment of mechanical joint dysfunction. All of these certifications help him to provide the best care to his patients for all their musculoskeletal conditions.

Dr. Hapka resides in Grapevine, TX with his wife Kylea and daughter Leighton, and son Hudson.  In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, working out to stay fit and enjoying days out on the lake.

Prior to my first visit with Dr. Hapka, I had never seen a chiropractor before and let me tell you...I was nervous. But, he was awesome! He really eased my anxiety by listening to me, educating me and explaining everything he did. He is such a nice doctor and I felt like he gave me his full attention while I was there. After just one treatment, I left with my confidence intact again and that’s priceless.
